Wild Horses in Blue Twilight

The quiet intimacy of the blue hour is captured perfectly in this striking dual portrait. A serene bond between mare and foal anchors the piece, offering a moment of absolute stillness as dusk settles gently over the pasture.

Bold, expressive brushwork defines the scene, blending deep cobalt and sky blue skies with the rugged textures of the tall grass. Warm light washes over the horses, highlighting their coats in unexpected shades of soft apricot, peach, and terracotta. This creates a mesmerising contrast against the cooler twilight tones and the sweeping, layered edges of the composition.
