Horses on the Coastal Spit

The ultimate freedom of a coastal hack is captured in this breathtaking moment of stillness. Standing at the very end of a sandy spit, two riders pause quietly to take in the sheer, uninterrupted scale of the horizon before them.

Dominating the composition is a magnificent, billowing cumulus cloud painted in brilliant whites and soft dove greys, dwarfing the horses below. A cool-toned palette merges sky and sea in seamless washes of cerulean and slate blue. Expressive brushstrokes bring tangible texture to the pale, ochre-tinted sand and the gentle, rolling foam of the incoming tide.
