Horses Across a Vivid Landscape

Bold bands of saturated colour and the steady rhythm of a walking herd define this striking expressionist landscape. It is a piece that captures the quiet, determined energy of horses on the move, rendered in an evocative, beautifully textured palette.

The expansive width of the canvas is constructed through sweeping, painterly layers: a grounding stretch of sage green, a sun-warmed sandy path, a vast expanse of deep cobalt blue, and a bold strike of terracotta beneath a pale gold sky. Across this vivid terrain, a line of horses makes its unhurried journey. Their forms shift in visual weight—from ethereal, pale washes to rich, solid indigos—their outlines blending beautifully into the thick brushstrokes of the background. The long horizontal shape gives the procession room to breathe, inviting the eye to travel alongside the herd as they cross the plains.

A piece of this scale and vibrancy belongs on a commanding stretch of wall, making an unforgettable statement above a large contemporary sofa or setting a serene mood over a wide bed. Beautifully presented in a float frame with a 5mm shadow gap, it is available in two substantial sizes: 30 x 91 cm and 51 x 152 cm. You can select from six frame colours to suit your space; we particularly love how the Antique Gold frame draws out the pale, luminous sky for a rich, elegant finish, while the sleek Black frame offers a sharp, modern border that makes those brilliant blues leap from the canvas.
