Sepia Ink Mare And Foal

The gentle touch of muzzles speaks volumes in this intimate portrayal of equine affection. It captures that fleeting, quiet exchange between a mare and her foal, stripping away the unnecessary to leave only pure, unconditional emotion.

Rendered in striking expressive washes, the composition balances deep blacks against warm sepia colours. Loose, dynamic linework defines the graceful curve of their necks, while subtle ink splatters add a raw, sophisticated texture against the woven beige background. The contrasting proportions beautifully highlight the protective nature of the mare leaning down to meet her offspring.
